Our family story

Nearly a century
in full bloom.

Founded by Derek Stevens in 1929, Stevens of Sibsey is a fourth-generation family flower business with its roots set deep in the fertile Lincolnshire soil.

From one generation to the next, the family grew flowers, traded bulbs and became familiar faces at markets in Grimsby and Cambridge. Today, George Stevens carries that name forward—growing on the Sibsey farm and bringing the character of the field directly to London and Lincolnshire.

Our approach remains beautifully simple: grow with care, cut for freshness and make every market display feel abundant. George's aim is to deliver exceptional flowers—cut the day before wherever the season allows—to wholesale and retail customers who value freshness and provenance.

Nearly a century of early mornings, flower fields and market days. This is the family story behind Stevens of Sibsey—and the people whose work still shapes everything we do.

1929

Derek begins the story

Derek Stevens founded the company in 1929. From those beginnings, Stevens grew to become one of Lincolnshire's biggest bulb merchants and was among the first businesses to grow and export Doris pinks.

The next generation

From Grimsby to Cambridge

George's grandfather, Robin Stevens, followed in Derek's footsteps, becoming a familiar face on the Grimsby market alongside George's father, Grant. At the same time, Adam and Simon Stevens carried the family name at Cambridge Market.

Today

Four generations in bloom

George and Grant now work side by side, taking British-grown flowers from their Lincolnshire fields to customers across London, Lincolnshire and beyond—still guided by the standards established in 1929.

For years, Adam was the face of Cambridge Market: generous with his time, proud of his flowers and loved by the people who returned to see him week after week.

His warmth, character and devotion to the family business remain part of the Stevens story. This small archive is dedicated to Adam and the remarkable market legacy he left behind.

Our farm follows the rhythm of the year. From dahlias and peonies to 27 varieties of wildflower, each crop arrives in its own time—full of shape, scent and the quiet beauty of field-grown flowers.
